Cebu's Lingam and Yoni Massage: A Reaction

An Excerpt

Facts:
Lingam and Yoni are Sanskrit words for male and female genitals respectively.

Lingam is the massage of the actual male organ – the penis and the scrotum – to provide pleasure and sexual release for their male clients. The venue could be from the massage parlor to homes as there are also existing home services.

Its female counterpart, Yoni, is the massage of the vulva of the woman. Usual customers in Cebu are Asian women, mostly Koreans. It has psychological use like helping women breakthrough sexual blocks or trauma.

Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer of AIDS-Free Philippines and Dr. Jocelyn Abellana from DOH both said that lingam doesn’t have any proven benefits and is not a cure for prostate cancer.

Reaction:
Borrowing the words of Dr. Bucoy of Sidlak, the lingam massage has “put to the fore the bourgeoning prostitution in Cebu using massage parlors or spas as fronts”. Prostitution is taking another form or face that is more enticing and socially acceptable in the guise of “science” and acquired traditions.

Lingam massage, however they sugar coat it, is still a form of prostitution. Most often than not it results to the actual sexual intercourse itself which, the lingam is just a precursor or even a “cover” for such atrocious activity. As prostitution is illegal, lingam massage becomes its ticket to legality.

Praxis
We should boycott these establishments that provide such services, and ostracize those people who seek sexual relief in such establishments.

We should lobby in the city hall and pressure them to shape legislations that would ban any form of prostitution, as well as “precursors” of such including lingam and yoni massage.

Lastly, we should also say NO to lingam massage, and NO to yoni massage!

  1. It is unavoidable that there unmarried/unengaged old male and female individuals who go to massage parlors or contact them and ask extra services to the masseuses/masseurs and paid them justly because they have no sexual partners in life to suffice their sexual needs, that is there only way to release sexual pleasures and to express their sexual emotions.

  2. It can't be denied that there are unmarried/unengaged men and women who contact masseurs and masseuses with extra services to express their sexual emotions and to suffice their sexual needs. We can't blame them it depends on the individuals if they agreed or not, most of them have no boyfriends/girlfriends and they just want to enjoy sexual activities as part of their sexual lifestyles.....
